late and sort of live - Monday 10th August

Well the Edinburgh festival madness has kicked off, and we have turned into nocturnal vampiric creatures of the night, staggering out into the bright (ish) Scottish sunlight / wind and rain as people make their way home from work, eating breakfast around 6pm, and generally living a bit of an australian topsy turvy kind of existence. We did our first show on Saturday. Went well, apart from the fact that in our excitement to be back on the hallowed ground of Teviot, we played every song at our usual frenetic breathless pace, and having figured that a nice 22 song set should see us nicely through the 2 never-enind hours. were a little surprised when, having played 16 of them, our manager enthusiatically told us we still had an hour to go! Still, luckily we have a whole underused arsenal of b-sides, rarities, questionabe banter, poetry routines, drummer-related crowd participation, experimental spinal tap-like jazz interludes, that managed to see us nicely through the set. Still, we learned our lessons, and most of our songs are evolving in unexpected ways, sprouting new sections, becoming agmented with gratuitous guitar solos and drum and bass breaks, and all kinds of new things, which is nice and refreshing. So well done if you have been one of the hardy revelers who have joined us and fed us with your limitless energy - keep it up!
